Nutrition is that the science that interprets the interaction of nutrients and alternative substances in food in relevancy maintenance, growth, replica, health and sickness of an organism. It includes food intake, absorption, assimilation, synthesis, catabolism, and excretion.

The diet of an organism is what it chow, that is essentially determined by the provision and palatableness of foods. For humans, a healthy diet includes preparation of food and storage strategies that preserve nutrients from oxidisation, heat or natural process, which cut back risk of foodborne health problem.

In humans, an unhealthy diet will cause deficiency-related diseases like visual defect, anaemia, scurvy, preterm birth, miscarriage and hypothyroidism,or nutrient excess health-threatening conditions like obesity and metabolic syndrome; and such common chronic general diseases as upset, polygenic disorder, and pathology. Under nutrition will result in wasting in acute cases, and therefore the aerobatics of malnutrition in chronic cases of deficiency disease.
