Biography
Dr. Rita Rahmeh is an Associate Research Scientist in the Biotechnology program at Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR). She obtained her M.S. in Science and Technology in 2007 and completed her Ph.D. in biochemistry and molecular biology with the highest honor in 2010 from University of Montpellier, France. She was a postdoctoral fellow at the Institute of Functional Genomics, France for two years. She has published and presented her research in reputable international journals (10 papers). Her research interest is in the isolation and identification of microbial community present in camel milk and their association with camel health and disease. In addition, she is specialized in the purification and characterization of the antimicrobial peptides as alternatives to antibiotics and synthetic food preservatives.
